October is finally here! While the weather stays warm and sunny, enjoy the great outdoors with your family and explore the many fall-themed activities taking place throughout the city this month.
Pumpkin Days
Calgary Farmyard
Thursday – Sunday, September 18 – October 31, 2020
Cost: $17.95 per person
Calgary Farmyard is the perfect place to pick out and purchase a pumpkin to take home. There will also be pumpkins on display for people to view and take photos with. Visitors are able to purchase timed tickets at the start of each week for one-hour admission between 10:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Other family-friendly activities include the popular corn maze, tractor pull rides, and petting farms.
Harvest Lights

From 5:30 – 9:00 p.m. the Calgary Farmyard transforms into the Harvest Lights, where visitors of all ages can tour through the display. The rest of the farm will be open for visitors to take part in additional activities. The darkness adds an extra challenge – especially in the corn maze, which visitors have to navigate with a flashlight! Visitors are encouraged to dress for the weather and must pre-book their tickets at the start of the week.
Fiver Fridays
TELUS Spark
Fridays, September 18 – October 16
Every Friday until mid-October, TELUS Spark is open from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. for adults only with $5 food and $5 drink specials. Visitors must pre-book their tickets for the timed entry in advance. Two different time entries are offered, one from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Each night, different activities will be offered in addition to the centre’s usual exhibits. Masks must be worn throughout the evening except when in areas to eat and drink.
Harvest Pumpkin Fest
Butterfield Acres

Cost: $13.49 per child, $15.49 per adult
Enjoy your October weekend at Butterfield Acres, where visitors can find a pumpkin to decorate their window or door-step while enjoying all the other attractions at Butterfield Acres. In addition to the infamous animal activities, the farm will also feature a ride through Scarecrow Alley. Tickets must be purchased online ahead of time. Be sure to bring your masks as some activities require that guests wear them when partaking in the activity. On cooler days, guests can warm-up at outdoor fire pits and enjoy a variety of fall drink essentials like hot chocolate and apple cider. All guests are encouraged to come dressed to impress in their Halloween costumes!
Pumpkin Patch Extravaganza

Cost: $119.00 per person
For a unique fall-themed activity, pre-book tickets for a 25-minute glass blowing workshop to create your own glass pumpkin. Two professional artists will assist participants with shaping and forming their very own pumpkin. While the activity may seem intimidating, no prior experience is needed for this class, which is also open to children aged 9 and over. Admission must be purchased online in advance, after which participants will receive further instructions on what to expect during the class.
