Lunch ‘N Learn: Luck of the Irish
When: March 7 & 8, 2019
Where: ATCO Blue Flame Kitchen (909 11 Ave SW)
Get in the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day ahead of time and take part in the ATCO Blue Flame Kitchen’s lunch and learn session on traditional Irish fare. During the lunch-time sessions, participants will get to watch as a chef makes the dishes they will be served for lunch. After, they will get to take home the recipes so they can try them out on their own at home. The classes run from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. so people can get out of the office and participate in a fun activity over lunch with friends and co-workers. This class will feature a variety of authentic Irish dishes, like Guinness pie. Registration is $30 per person and those interested can register online here.

Guests at Heritage Park’s St. Patrick’s Day festivities are in for a treat as they will get to take part in a beer tasting from Big Rock Brewery while they enjoy music from local band Cabot’s Crossing. This event is for adults only, and all guests are encouraged to wear green! The event runs from 6:00 – 11:00 p.m., with the beer tasting starting at 6:00 p.m. and food service running from 6:30 p.m. until the end of the night. Tickets are $69.95 per person and include the beer tasting, one drink ticket, food, and music.
Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre: Death by Shamrock

Fort Calgary’s Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre is hosting a special St. Patrick’s Day-themed performance to celebrate the festive occasion. Guests will be able to enjoy food and a live theatrical performance, as well as a chance to participate in the mystery themselves! This murder mystery is centered around a group of contestants taking part in a reality show in Ireland. During the last round of the competition some of the competitors are willing to go to deadly lengths to win – with the help of hints from the actors, guests will have a chance to put their detective skills to the test to determine the culprit. The evening begins with cocktails at 6:00 p.m., dinner and the show at 7:00 p.m., and dessert and the final reveal at 9:00 p.m. Tickets are $85 per person and can sell quickly, so guests are encouraged to purchase their tickets online as soon as possible.

The Calgary Roadrunners annual St. Patrick’s Day race is back for its 32nd annual run in support of the Calgary Roadrunners and the Canadian Diabetes Association. This race offers participants the choice of running a 5K or 10K route, which will take runners through the North Glenmore and Lakeview area. Registration is $60 per person for either route and includes a medal for participating in the race – those interested can register online here. After the run, participants are welcome to view the awards, enjoy some Irish fare, and enter for a chance to win a prize.
For guests who are interested in getting a test run in before the actual race, the Calgary Roadrunners are hosting a free Shoes and Brews event will take place on Friday, March 15 at Strides Running Store (3566 Garrison Gate SW). Guests will be able to test a new pair of running shoes on a short running route, and then return to the store for a beer tasting from Village Brewery. While all ages are welcome to participate in the short run, only adults aged 18 and older are able to participate in the beer tasting. Register for this event online here.

Described as Calgary’s biggest St. Patrick’s Day Party, this adults-only event will provide a fun night out in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day at the Music Calgary nightclub. The event kicks off at 10:00 p.m. and will go into the early hours of the morning on Monday. A variety of music from hip hop to Top 40 will be played for guests throughout the night, and a professional photographer will be on hand to snap photos of partygoers during the party. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $20 and will also available at the door. However, entry is not guaranteed so it is recommended that those interested purchase their tickets in advance.
